Is this official Apple guidance or legal advice?
No. This site summarizes public Apple Developer News and documentation into an interactive country path. It is not affiliated with Apple, does not replace App Store Connect or ATT headers, and is not legal advice. If live docs or your counsel disagree with anything here, follow the live pages and your counsel.
Can I opt out of the alternative prompt in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, or Romania?
On iOS / iPadOS 27.2, Apple states that only the alternative version of the system prompt is available for apps distributed in those five countries. Passing preferExpandedInterface: false does not restore the classic alert there. Plan Markdown copy and layout for a full-page sheet, not a one-line alert.
Do I still need NSUserTrackingUsageDescription if I add Markdown?
Yes. Keep the classic NSUserTrackingUsageDescription key. NSUserTrackingMarkdownUsageDescription is optional Markdown for the expanded sheet; if you omit it, the system can fall back to the plain usage string. Outside the EU the Markdown key is not used for display.
What happens when the user taps Additional Information?
That control is not an allow or deny. The prompt dismisses without recording a decision, your action runs so you can show privacy details, and the completion handler receives notDetermined. Your code must request authorization again afterward. Treat a missing second request as a product bug.
Does this change when I am allowed to track?
No. Apple’s news says the requirements for when you must seek permission to track remain the same. This matrix only helps you pick UI, keys, and flags for EU distribution — it is not a tracking policy waiver and not a substitute for Privacy Nutrition Labels.
Do my matrix answers leave this browser?
No upload path is implemented. Radio choices and checkbox ticks stay in your tab’s memory until you copy text yourself. We do not create accounts or set analytics cookies for this tool. Cloudflare Pages may keep standard edge HTTP logs for delivery, which is separate from your answers. See the privacy page.
